LUVBOX with Steve Hussey will be playing at a CD Release Party at The Adelphia on Friday, March 2 at 9PM.
They will have a limited supply of their new CD there!  Don’t miss out!

1) So, this is your CD release party!  What can you tell us about the new CD?

It’s a 4 song EP. I would describe it as “Matchbox 20 meets Clutch”. We all grew up in the late 80s early 90s and those influences are very evident on this disc. We are adopting a very unique strategy in getting music out with this band. We will be releasing a new 4 song EP every three months. In todays’s environment, the long play album is almost a dinosaur. So we are going to be releasing music often, but in digestable amounts.

2) How is Luvbox different than the Steve Hussey Band?

SHB was not very genre-specific. We morphed into a more country thing towards the end, but the rock thing was always there. LuvBox is very much an adult contemporary project. The rootsy elements of SHB are nowhere to be found. I write a lot of songs in that direction and this is a perfect outlet for those songs.

3) Do you have any plans to go back to Nashville and write or perform?

I have plans to be down there 5 or six times this year. I have made some awesome connections and nothing to me is more fun than writing new music with other people. It’s one thing to sit in a room by yourself and write, it’s another thing altogether to sit in a room with 2 or 3 people and end up with this weird, wonderful song that you never would have written in a million years by yourself.

4) If you could pick one cover song that you play that really get them up and dancing, what would it be?

It’s funny, you can almost never predict this sort of thing. At our first LuvBox show, the cover that got the biggest reaction dance-wise was “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”. I couldn’t believe it. I mean, of all the songs it was that one.

5) Do you have any surprises in store for this Friday night?

We have some things up our sleeve. Folks are just going to have to come and find out!
